2020: The company resumed the A-share IPO plan and made full efforts to promote it. Its operating revenue reached 76.9 billion yuan,a record high. And its net profit stabilized at more than 1 billion yuan. The 13th Five-Year Plan ended successfully.
2017: The Company recorded annual revenue of RMB36.8 billion and a record high net profit attributable to equity holders of RMB1.2 billion.
2014: CITIC Metal consolidated with CITIC International Trading Co., Ltd.; Partnered with MMG Limited and CNIC Corporation Limited in July to acquire 100% equity stake of Las Bambas copper mine where CITIC Metal took a 15% equity stake.
2010: Recorded annual trading revenue of RMB10 billion, a milestone in Company history; CITIC Metal (HK) Ltd. was established as the group's first HK-based overseas platform for intermediary trade.
2004: CITIC Metal Company invested in China Platinum Co., Ltd. and Western Superconducting Technologies Co., Ltd.
1999: CITIC Metal Development and the Beijing Office of CITISTEEL USA Inc. were restructured and consolidated, with the latter's niobium trading business acquired by CITIC Metal Company.
1988: CITIC Metal's predecessor China Kanghua Metal Development Limited was established in Beijing.
2018: CITIC Metal Co., Ltd. acquired 19.5% stake of Ivanhoe Mines Limited, a world renowned mining company, and become its single largest shareholder. The company also completed corporate reform and became a shareholding company in the same year.
2016: CITIC Metal Group Limited was registered in Hong Kong by consolidating all the assets, operations, and employees of CITIC Metal Co., Ltd. and CITIC United Asia Investments Limited.
2011: Led a consortium comprising Baosteel Group, Ansteel Group, Shougang Group, and Taiyuan Iron & Steel (Group) Co., Ltd. (TISCO) that acquired 15% shares of CBMM, the world's largest niobium producer, with a 5% equity stake owned by CITIC Metal.
2009: CITIC Metal Company was renamed CITIC Metal Co., Ltd. CITIC Metal (Ningbo) Co., Ltd. was set up in Ningbo as a trading entity and started import business.
2002: CITIC Metal Company signed an exclusive distribution agreement with CBMM to promote niobium technology, applications and sales in China market to date.
1990: China Kanghua Metal Development Limited was acquired by CITIC Group and renamed CITIC Metal Development Limited and later CITIC Metal Company.
